The Beaufort County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired seeks a Culinary Program Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs that focus on healthy fresh food preparation and nutrition.
At the Blind Center/ENCight Gardens, we believe that everyone deserves access to healthy and nutritious food. That's why we've created a unique program that combines community gardens, fresh foods, education, hands-on learning, and community building to help individuals with visual impairments and the community at large, lead healthier lives.
As a Program Developer, you will work closely with our team to develop inclusive educational programs that cover recipe developments, flavor profiles, healthy eating habits, meal planning and preparation, and nutrition. You will also collaborate with local businesses and nutritionists to create engaging and interactive workshops and events.
The ideal candidate for this position will have strong culinary skills, and a deep rooted desire to learn and grow their knowledge surrounding health, and nutrition, and a passion for helping others lead healthier lives. You should be comfortable or open to learning about developing and delivering educational programs, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience in developing and delivering educational programs is a plus, Developing recipes is a must. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating in creating videos, social media posts, and presentations to promote our program. Experience with community outreach and developing partnerships is also highly desirable.
Part of your duties will be to publish a cookbook in conjunction with the Blind Center, showcasing our program's farm-to-table practices, curriculum, and recipes. This cookbook will be a testament to the power of healthy eating and the potential for individuals with visual impairments to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
