Our Mission
The Blind Center is unique
There
is nothing like us between Raleigh and the coast of North Carolina.
The Blind Center of Washington, NC is a non-profit
organization whose mission is
to provide support and services to the blind and
visually impaired of Beaufort and surrounding counties. The center
is staffed by a Director and Assistant Director and approximately 50 volunteers. The Center enhances the independent lifestyle and
self esteem of blind and visually impaired people by providing a positive
atmosphere in which education, independent living skills and dexterity
(mental and physical) are maintained through craft oriented programs.
Medical support,
aids, appliances and other resources are also offered.
